Brief History
A brief history of the EnPot development is outlined below:
2003 - 2007
Initial research and development conducted by Dr. Robert Wallace as part of his PhD studies at the University of Auckland. His thesis was titled “Enhancement of Heat Transfer Mechanisms at the Exterior Walls of Metallurgical Furnaces Using Heat Exchanger Technology”.
2007 – 2008
Continued Internal laboratory development at LMRC
2008 - 2009
1 pot trial installation at a smelter in South America. Goal - Amperage increase
2009 - 2011
4 pot trial installation at a smelter in Canada. Goal - Amperage increase
2012 - 2013
1 pot trial installation at a smelter in Europe. Goal - Flexible Operations
2015
12 pot trial installation at a Smelter in Europe
Goal – Flexible Operations
3 pot trial installation approved in Australasia.
1 pot trial installation for smelter in Norway.
2016
1 pot line planned for European smelter
